The owner of a Prospect Heights building is spending roughly $1 million more than he paid for the property one year ago to expand the building by nearly twice its current size.
The planned overhaul of the Martha Washington building at 85 Eastern Parkway will lift the six-story property to 14 stories and boost the number of apartment offerings from 42 to 82 units. The finished product will span 76,183 square feet and include a duplex that occupies the entire top two floors.
The overhaul is estimated to cost $3.25 million. Owned by Nagal Mordhai, according to recent filings with the Department of Buildings, the property last changed hands in 2012 for $2.21 million, according to city records. Architect Sandor Weiss of Anno Mundi is handling the revamped design, according to BuzzBuzzHome. [BuzzBuzzHome] — Julie Strickland
