Stacked blue boxes will be tallest towers in New Jersey
A trio of zig-zagging apartment towers will soon shift the New Jersey skyline. The first, a 69-story building that upon completion will be the highest in New Jersey, broke ground today.
The Jersey City project, dubbed URL Harborside, is being developed by the Mack-Cali Realty Corporation in partnership with Ironstate Development Company. Designed by the Dutch firm Concrete, the towers will resemble stacked blue boxes and will feature a number of flood-proofing features.
URL Harborside 1, as the first tower will be known, will have 763 of the trio’s 2,358 total rental units and include commercial space, a parking garage, cafe, gym, roof gardens and terraces. There is no word yet on what rents the developers will be asking. [Curbed] — Julie Strickland
