Digital music streaming company Spotify has expanded to 123,000 square feet at RXR Realty’s 620 Sixth Avenue. Spotify will add roughly 50,000 square feet to its current 73,000-square-foot space at the Midtown South building.
Studley’s David Goldstein and Nick Farmakis represented Spotify, while RXR was represented in-house by Bill Elder. Asking rents at the 700,000-square-foot building are in the $70s per square foot, almost double what they were a decade ago, according to Crain’s.
Midtown South is on a hot streak in leasing space to high-profile technology companies this month. Twitter just took 140,000 square feet at 245 West 17th Street for its New York City headquarters, and Mashable took 38,580 square feet at 114 Fifth Avenue, as The Real Deal reported.
