Affiliate of developer Ashkenazy Acquisition has picked up the Tribeca home of City Hall Wines & Spirits for $6.1 million, prompting speculation that the site will be redeveloped.
The plot, at 108 Chambers Street, also includes the Imperial Coffee House. It features up to 14,000 square feet of buildable space in addition to the 2,000 square feet of existing retail space. City Hall Wines & Spirits plans to relocate to the nearby 158 Church Street.
Because the building is only one story, it seems ripe for development, according to the Tribeca Citizen. “Single-story buildings are right below parking lots on the Tribeca Endangered List,” the paper said.
Elsewhere, the Reade Chambers, a six-story condo building at 87 Chambers Street in Tribeca, launched last week, as The Real Deal reported. [Tribeca Citizen] — Mark Maurer
