Fashion designer and former Coach executive director Reed Krakoff has unloaded his townhouse on the Upper East Side for a cool $51 million.
The 18,000-square-foot, seven-story home at 113-115 East 70th Street was built in 1910 and purchased by Krakoff and his wife Delphine for $17 million in 2005. Divided into 12 separate apartments at the time, the Krakoffs reunited the spaces back into a single-family home.
Paula Del Nunzio, who also sold Krakoff’s 157 East 61st Street home to Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters in 2007, represented the sellers in the latest transaction, the New York Post reported. She declined to comment for the Post’s story.
The home boasts 18th-century floorboards, French mantels, hand-plastered walls and a curving staircase, according to the Post — as well as a library that pulls double-duty as a dining room.
The designer, who departed Coach early last year to focus on his own eponymous label, took a 27,000-square-foot space at 40 West 25th Street at that time, agreeing to rents in the low $50s per square foot. [NYP] — Julie Strickland
