Not long after signing a lease for a Beverly Hills, Calif., office, Manhattan’s largest brokerage, Douglas Elliman, has been hired to handle sales and marketing for a $1 billion mixed-use development known as Metropolis Los Angeles, according to a spokesperson.
Chinese company Greenland USA, which is state-owned, plans to break ground on the site later this year. The project includes three condominium towers with a combined 1,428 units; a 19-story hotel; and a five-story parking deck. This is the first building Elliman has taken on since marking new territory in California.
The new office is set to open at 9440 Santa Monica Boulevard in March, as The Real Deal reported.
In addition to the firm’s 22 offices in New York City, Elliman has 27 offices on Long Island, nine in the Hamptons, six in Westchester County and 10 in South Florida. — Mark Maurer
