Luciane Serifovic, a former managing director at Citi Habitats’ relocation division, has been appointed executive vice president and director of rentals at the city’s largest residential brokerage Douglas Elliman, an Elliman spokesperson told The Real Deal exclusively.

Serifovic takes over the role from Mark Menendez, who will now manage the firm’s newly formed Tribeca sales gallery downtown alongside Amy Kane.

Working out of the company’s office at 575 Madison Avenue, Serifovic, who has been at Elliman since July, will be responsible for overseeing the rentals at Elliman as well as landlord services and agent training. She will oversee rental operations in New York as well as in other markets served by Elliman.

“We have an amazing team of people already involved in rentals and I want to draw upon the talent and foundation laid out by my colleague, Mark Menendez, and take it to the next level,” Serifovic said in a statement.

Brazilian-born Serifovic ran Citi Habitats’ top-producing office at 250 Park Avenue South for seven years before joining Elliman as a vice president in the property management division last summer.

“Our rental division has always been strong, and as the company continues to grow, we need to enhance and expand our infrastructure to support all of our markets so our renters get the same level of exceptional service from Beverly Hills to Broadway,” said Douglas Elliman president and CEO Dottie Herman in a statement provided to The Real Deal.

Elliman’s so-called Tribeca sales gallery combines both the 90 Hudson and 4 Leonard Street offices to focus on the evolving markets downtown near the World Trade Centers.
