Six community groups, two labor unions and state officials have agreed on a settlement that will kick off a new request-for-proposals process for developers looking to revamp the Long Island College Hospital site in Cobble Hill.
The deal was a result of days of deliberation after the community groups filed a contempt hearing against the owner, the State University of New York. SUNY is expected to give up ownership to a new entity by May. State officials would meet with the unions and community groups before selecting a proposal, DNAinfo reported.
Earlier this month, SUNY was in the final stages of a sales process that turned out bidders including Fortis Property Group, Don Peebles, Brooklyn Hospital and NYU. [DNAinfo] — Mark Maurer
