A Barbados estate has already broken records after listing for $55 million, the highest asking price on the open market ever for the Caribbean island.
If the 2.5-acre estate, known as “Four Winds,” sees its asking price, it will be the most expensive home sale ever in Barbados, listing agent Paul B. Altman of Barbados-based Altman Real Estate, an associate of Savills, told the Wall Street Journal.
The previous record was set by a home located about a mile away that sold for just under $50 million last year, Altman added.
The 17,000-square-foot, six-bedroom main house is located on Gibbes Beach and features a pool, a pool house with a gym and a gazebo.
The previous owners, a British couple, “took great pride in their garden,” according to Altman, and the grounds are full of mature flowers and trees. [WSJ] —Christopher Cameron
