Dominating three-bedroom apartment searches, the East Village was the most in-demand Manhattan neighborhood for prospective renters last week, according to Zumper, an apartment listings website. The others, in order, were the Greenwich Village, Upper West Side, Upper East Side and – in the same spot as the previous week — Midtown East.
Two-bedrooms held the majority of the market share, with nearly a third of the leads. The median rent inquiry was $3,450 per month. Studios had 29 percent of the market and $1,700 per month.
One-bedrooms had 28 percent and $2,300 per month, data show. Three-bedrooms did a little better than the week before, up to 11 percent from 0 percent. The median inquiry was $4,450.
Methodology: Zumper determined the rankings by using a representative sample of emails and phone calls from renters interested in its Manhattan listings available for the week ending March 2. — Mark Maurer
