A developer is planning to transform a trio of Brooklyn Heights buildings just outside of the neighborhoods landmark district into an as-of-right 18-story rental development.

Quinlan Development Group has been given the OK by the Department of Buildings to demolish a vandalized structure and two other buildings at 153-157 Remsen Street to build apartments.

Two of the three tenants of the ground-floor retail have already left, but a chiropractor who operates at 157 Remsen hasn’t moved out yet, the Brooklyn Eagle reported.

Brooklyn-based Lonicera Partners has been listed as the managing agent for some of the buildings, indicating the developer may be a partner in the project. Quinlan has other developments in the New York City pipeline, including a 14-story condominium in Soho at 180 Sixth Avenue, for which the firm obtained air rights last year for $4 million. [BrooklynEagle] – Angela Hunt
