From the South Florida site: Donald Trump plans to pursue “millions of dollars” in attorney fees from two buyers of a failed Fort Lauderdale condo-hotel who sued the celebrity developer.

A jury sided with Trump on Wednesday, two days after he testified in Broward Circuit Court that he only licensed his name to the Trump International Hotel & Tower but was not the developer of the scuttled project, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Plaintiffs John Taglieri and Michael Goodson had claimed they only bought units in the project because they believed Trump was the true developer. The project was abandoned after last decade’s real estate crash and the site was sold last December to a group building the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Resort & Residences.

“The jury patiently weighed all of the testimony and exhibits and, in the end, determined that the evidence weighed overwhelmingly in favor of Trump,” said Alan Garten, Trump’s executive vice president and general counsel. “As the old saying goes, ‘Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered.’”

Another lawsuit filed against Trump by 53 other unit buyers is expected to go to trial this summer. [Sun-Sentinel]Eric Kalis
