Law firm White & Case is expected to sign a lease for 400,000 square feet at the McGraw-Hill Building at 1221 Sixth Avenue by next week.
The firm’s 300,000-square-foot lease at 1155 Sixth Avenue, a Durst Organization property, expires in two years. By then, White & Case hopes to relocate to the nearby Rockefeller Group property. Average asking rents at 1221 Sixth Avenue are $78 per square foot, the New York Post reported.
Cushman & Wakefield broker John Cefaly represented the tenant, while Rockefeller Group’s Ed Guiltinan represented the landlord. White & Case struggled to fill the roughly 500,000 square feet of vacant space in the wake of Société Générale’s departure, as previously reported. [NYP] — Mark Maurer
