New York creditors are after “Wolf of Wall Street” Jordan Belfort, who now resides in Southern California.
The collection agency, in pursuit of a reported $27,597 in unpaid retail purchases in New York, recently filed new legal documents that make an Empire State judgment against the trader-turned-motivational speaker enforceable in his new home, Hollywood gossip site TMZ reported.
The real Belfort, unfortunately, won’t be able to tap into proceeds from the sale of 300 East 55th Street, which served as the fictional swanky pad belonging to Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in the “Wolf of Wall Street” biopic and is currently on the market for $6.5 million. [TMZ] — Julie Strickland
