Actor Willem Dafoe, who most recently portrayed a hitman in Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” bought a West Village penthouse co-op for $3.9 million, according to property records filed with the city today.

The seven-story, 14-unit building at 68 Jane Street – also known as 812-814 Greenwich Street — was converted from a factory loft space in the 1970s. Lewis Kunkel, believed to be a financial adviser at Blue Sand Securities, is the seller, records show.

The two-bedroom apartment was listed with Jim St. Andre and Peter McCuen of Peter McCuen and Associates in November for $3.99 million, StreetEasy shows. It features 12.5-foot ceilings, 11 arched windows a wood-burning fireplace.

“It’s a rare commodity these days to own a penthouse in the West Village,” McCuen told The Real Deal.

Halstead Property broker Richard Orenstein, who declined to comment, represented Dafoe in the transaction. Neither the buyer nor the seller could immediately be reached.

The 58-year-old Wisconsin native and his wife Giada Colagrande currently reside in unit No. 3 in the building, according to the deed. Dafoe bought a co-op at 67 Perry Street for $1.6 million in 2005. He listed a two-bedroom house in Accord, N.Y., for $850,000 in 2008, as previously reported.

Dafoe has notably appeared in such films as “Platoon,” “Shadow of the Vampire,” “The Boondock Saints,” “Antichrist” and “Spider-Man.”
