Brownstoner blogger's project to feature beer hall, fiber-optic network
A Brooklyn real estate blogger will soon open his own Crown Heights project, a 140,000-square-foot commercial building converted from a former Studebaker service station.
The 140,000-square-foot building now has a temporary certificate of occupancy from the city’s Department of Buildings, and developer Jonathan Butler plans to move a couple dozen tenants into the space over the next three weeks, the New York Observer reported.
Butler, who runs the local Brownstoner real estate blog, picked up the property with Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group and BFC Partners in 2012 for $11 million, the Observer noted.
The complex, which includes a 400-seat beer hall and food court slated to open in May at 899 Bergen Street, was designed by Annabelle Selldorf. The building features 13-foot ceilings and a fiber-optic network, according to the listing.
Aptsandlofts is handling leasing, and about half of the building has been leased or is in the process of being leased, the article said. As of September of 2012, a food business incubator facility was in the process of finalizing a 45,000-square-foot deal to anchor the building. [NYO] — Angela Hunt
