Eric Anton and Ronald Solarz are bringing their 14-year run as partners in New York City real estate investment to a close.
Anton and Solarz worked together for more than a decade in investment sales at Eastern Consolidated. In 2011, the duo left Eastern to join Brookfield Financial, as previously reported. Brookfield Financial is the investment banking division of the Toronto-based real estate giant Brookfield Asset Management. While the duo have been partners since 2000, they’ve actually worked together even longer.
But in a letter to his colleagues, which was also sent to The Real Deal, Solarz announced he is heading back to Eastern in his former role as executive managing director and principal. Solarz began his career at the firm in 1994.
Meanwhile, Anton will stay on with Brookfield in his current role as managing partner, Solarz confirmed.
“Eric and I are good friends and we left on the best of terms,” Solarz told The Real Deal. “But at the end of the day, this is a good move for me.”
The pair have completed several large deals together, including the $125 million land transfer from Fordham University in 2011 and the $122 million sale of The Verizon Tower On Pearl Street, according to Brookfield’s website. Both Brookfield and Anton declined to comment through a spokesperson. — Angela Hunt
