Maitland promoted to president of sales at Town
Longtime power broker will join company’s executive management team for first time
Brokerage Town Residential has named Wendy Maitland president of sales at the company, a step up from her previous title as senior managing director.
The move puts Maitland, a key player at the brokerage since it launched three years ago, on the company’s executive management team for the first time.
Maitland was among the first in a series of power brokers recruited to Town when the firm first debuted in 2010. She came from Brown Harris Stevens along with Reid Price, who has since departed the firm to take a position at Douglas Elliman.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity and am prepared for the challenge of helping to bring Town to the next level,” Maitland said in a statement. “Town’s rapid ascension in residential sales has proven that our culture and the strategic execution of our mission have been on point. However, there is much more we can do.”
The promotion of Maitland comes months after a legal dispute between the company’s owners Joseph Sitt and Andrew Heiberger saw a string of top brokers fleeing to other firms. The legal battle between the two, which centered on control of the firm, has now been resolved.
A spokesperson for the company said Maitland’s promotion was not related to the dispute and had been in the pipeline for some time.
As president of sales, Maitland will look to expand the company’s reach in the luxury sales market and lead the firm’s sales management team.
