A Sagaponack man was arrested in connection to a Hamptons house fire that erupted on Saturday morning.
David Osiecki was charged with felony, third-degree arson for the fire at 187 Dune Road in Bridgehampton. He was also charged with arson in the fifth degree for allegedly setting a brush fire in the Bridgehampton-Hayground area.
Osiecki, a former real estate agent, appeared in a Long Island courthouse on Sunday. His arraignment was delayed until Monday, so that he could find a lawyer.
The Suffolk County Arson Squad was called out to the 10,000-square-foot, 7-bedroom, 8.5-bath house on Dune Road on Saturday, after flames set off an alarm just before 6 a.m. Firefighters finally put out the fire at 10 a.m.
The house has been badly damaged, with much of the damage being done to its east side, near a circular tower that houses a soaking tub off the master bathroom on the second floor.
New York City developer Ziel Feldman owns the home, which went on the market for $34 million in 2011, but was never sold. [NYP] —TRD
