The Suffolk County Arson Squad was called out to the 10,000-square-foot, 7-bedroom, 8.5-bath house on Dune Road on Saturday, after flames set off an alarm just before 6 a.m. Firefighters finally put out the fire at 10 a.m.

The house has been badly damaged, with much of the damage being done to its east side, near a circular tower that houses a soaking tub off the master bathroom on the second floor.

New York City developer Ziel Feldman owns the home, which went on the market for $34 million in 2011, but was never sold. [NYP] —TRD
