A sneak peak of Riverside Center, a development full of residential skyscrapers and neighborhood amenities approved by City Council in 2010, is now available thanks to newly-unveiled renderings on the architect’s website.
The project is slated to hold 2,500 residential units and a 250-room hotel, as well as 250,000 square feet of commercial space, according to New York YIMBY. A new school, cinema, 2.76-acre public park and affordable housing are planned as well.
One portion of architect Christian de Portzamparc’s site handed off to Dermot, has already kicked off construction. Unlike Portzamparc’s towers of crystalline glass, Dermot’s building will be a 616-unit glass box building, YIMBY reported. That tower will rise on West End Avenue at 61st Street, alongside the remainder of Riverside Center Between 60th And 61st Streets Along West End Avenue. [NYY] — Julie Strickland
