Security Industry Specialists inked a long-term lease in Chelsea’s Starrett-Lehigh Building.
The lease spans 10 years and six months for a 11,633-square-foot spread on the 13th floor of 601 West 26th St. The rent was in the high $60s per square foot, according to the Wall Street Journal. After subleasing a space at 575 Broadway for the past two years, the California-based security solutions business will be moving into the 19-story building. Other tenants in the building, which was designated a New York City Landmark in 1986, include Hugo Boss, Under Armour and Martha Stewart.
“It’s not your typical corporate environment, and they wanted to create a more relaxed office environment,” Andrew Margolin of the Kaufman Organization, who represented the tenant in the deal, told the Journal. Denise Rodriguez and Bill Elder represented landlord RXR Realty. [WSJ] — Claire Moses
