A full-floor penthouse condominium at Walker Tower that was a combination of two unfinished units sold for $30.8 million.
The European buyer, whose identity was not disclosed, selected two 22nd-floor apartments based on floors plans and hired an architect to merge them into a single four-bedroom pad. The 6,000-square-foot apartment at 212 West 18th Street features four full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, two terraces and wood-burning fireplaces, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Toni Haber of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer.
Apartments at Walker Tower have seen price hikes since the buyer entered contract. The buyer paid roughly $5,000 per square foot, a bit lower then another penthouse there that sold for $8,500 per square foot.
The first apartment closed at the condo conversion project in November — a three-bedroom unit on the 16th floor for $7.7 million, as previously reported. [WSJ] — Mark Maurer
