Town Residential made another high-profile pick-up Thursday.
The firm announced late in the day that it hired leasing agent Brennan Zahler to run Town’s Fifth Avenue office. Zahler had been working at Corcoran.
Zahler — who worked under Dennis Hughes, Corcoran’s Manhattan Rental Agent of the Year for 2013 — will serve as leasing director at at the luxury listing firm’s 730 Fifth Avenue office.
“Colleagues and I have joined this unique company for its emphasis on customer service and client relationships,” Zahler told The Real Deal. “The attention to detail, with remarkable lifestyle resources like the Town Attaché concierge service, make Town’s environment conducive to, and supportive of, agents’ best efforts.”
Zahler declined to comment on any exclusive listings he may be bringing with him from Corcoran.
He takes over for Dan Marrello, who was moved to serve as leasing director of Town’s Flatiron shop. The company recently promoted the Flatiron office’s former leasing director, Itzy Garay, to vice president of leasing and former senior managing director Wendy Maitland to president of sales.
In April, Town hired Shlomi Reuveni from Brown Harris Stevens as the company’s managing director of new development.
The hirings come after several of the firm’s brokers jumped ship during a much-publicized legal dispute between owners Joseph Sitt and Andrew Heiberger. The pair hammered out a settlement in March, but some brokers left Town anyway.
In April, Kristin Thomas, the former sales director of Town Residential’s West Village office, joined Trump International Realty as a senior sales agent.
Robert Dvorin, Clayton Orrigo, Patty LaRocco, Frank Arends and Daniela Zakarya all went to competing brokerage Douglas Elliman, and James Cox left Stribling & Associates.
