Mayor Bill de Blasio’s ongoing vacillation about moving from a Park Slope townhouse to the Gracie Mansion may have finally come to an end. First Lady Chirlane McCray said on her blog today that the family plans to begin packing up to make the big move.

Her mother’s sewing table and a rocking chair from de Blasio’s mother are among the items that will join them on the move. Tours at the five-bedroom mansion in Yorkville will end next week and resume by September after the de Blasio family has settled in.

“Today marks a very important day for our family — the move to Gracie Mansion has begun!” McCray wrote.

In March, de Blasio decided not to move into Gracie Mansion until after the school year, just three months after committing to do so, as previously reported. [NYO]Mark Maurer
