Louise Blouin, one of the richest women in the U.K, is selling her 4,551-square-foot West Village penthouse.
Blouin, also known as “the Red Queen” for her trademark red blazers and tough leadership style, bought the four-bedroom, four-bathroom apartment at 165 Charles Street for $20.6 million in 2005. The $35 million asking price comes down to more than $7,000 a square foot.
Douglas Elliman’s Raphael De Niro has the listing in the 16-story Richard Meier-designed building.
Blouin’s media empire — which publishes magazines Modern Painters and Art + Auction — has been under fire lately, after she allegedly didn’t pay her employees a total of $250,000 in wages. [NYDN] — Claire Moses
