GB Lodging, the developer converting 5 Beekman Street into a hotel and condominiums, filed plans for a 13-story hotel in Downtown Brooklyn that is said to be the next Ace Hotel outpost.
The nearly 157,000-square-foot building at 61 Bond Street — presently a parking lot — is set to hold 285 hotel rooms. In May, GFI Capital Resources, affiliated with GB Lodging and also run by Allen Gross, partnered with Spruce Capital to build an Ace Hotel somewhere in Downtown Brooklyn. The filings match the plans of GFI and Spruce, although the LLCs are different, New York YIMBY reported.
Architecture firm Stonehill & Taylor was hired to design the project. The Ace Hotel currently has a Manhattan location at 20 West 29th Street. [NY YIMBY] — Mark Maurer
