Halcyon at 305 East 51st Street
The Halcyon at 305 East 51st Street is a 32-story luxury condo building with a tragic past: Back in 2008, a crane collapsed at the construction site, killing seven people and damaging property. Since sales launched in July 2013, 67 of the 123 units at the HFZ Capital-developed, SLCE Architects-designed residence have found a buyer. On the market at press time were six homes ranging from an 954-square-foot one-bedroom, asking $1.975 million, to a 3,563-square-foot four-bedroom duplex penthouse, asking $11.75 million. The project’s interiors are designed by S. Russell Groves, whose work also includes a Tiffany store in Shanghai and the Upper East Side’s Lucida condominium. Amenities include a children’s playroom, a 50-foot heated pool, a gym, and an outdoor lounge with a landscaped terrace and fire pit. Occupancy is slated for fall/winter 2014, according to press reports. Contact www.halcyonny.com or 212-369-5100.
