Walker Tower is a 24-story, 50-unit condo conversion at 212 West 18th Street. The building set a price record for downtown Manhattan when a penthouse unit sold there for $50.9 million. The project by JDS Development and Property Markets Group began sales in the summer of 2012. The Art Deco building was initially built in 1929 by architect Ralph Walker. Available homes at press time ranged all the way up to a 8,094-square-foot six-bedroom penthouse priced at $51.5 million. The apartments come with radiant floor heating, French herringbone oak flooring, ceiling heights up to 14 feet, in-unit washer/dryers and Crestron home automation systems.
