Former Citigroup chairman Sandy Weill just made more money selling the apartment that housed his help than many New Yorkers would get for their own property.
The staff apartment at the Zeckendorfs’ 15 Central Park West sold for $5.33 million, the New York Daily News reported. The paper points out that the selling price is three times the average cost of a Manhattan home – not to mention five times what Weill paid for it in 2007.
Weill sold his own residence at 15 Central Park West for a record-breaking $88 million in 2011. He listed the maid’s quarters for $6.25 million earlier this year and knocked the asking price down to $5.65 million in February.
