Michael Contillo and Joseph Deglomini were indicted in the 1990s for tax evasion, racketeering and conspiring to raid the pension funds of building trade unions with the help of organized crime. Both men pleaded guilty in 1998 to a single Class A misdemeanor count of falsifying business records. They paid a $1 million fine.

The two men were investors in Hutch Realty Partners and retain a minor, non-controlling investment in Hutchinson Metro Center, a Simone Development spokeswoman said in a follow up to the original reporting. She added that Contillo and Deglomi aren’t principals in the firm, nor are they board members of investors. [NYO] — Claire Moses
