It might not be an adage that as many real estate deals are made on the golf course as in the boardrooms, but it should be. Though it was a Monday morning, top industry professionals from all over New York made the trek to the Baiting Hollow Golf Club for The Real Deal‘s fourth annual golf outing on August 4. Developers, brokers, lawyers, lenders and marketers had their game faces on, but made sure to talk business between shots.
Among those in attendance: Ilan Bracha of Keller Williams NYC; Eric Anton, who recently left Brookfield Financial for HFF; Eva Penson of Douglas Elliman; 5Points Group’s Alan Miller and HAP Investments Eldad Gothelf.
The golfers, playing best-ball rules in a scramble format, made their way out to the fairway and got down to it. Soon after they started, however, the skies opened up and it looked like the weather would play spoilsport. But the intrepid golfers kept going, sheltering under umbrellas after their drives and putts. Thankfully, the rain soon retreated in deference to the sun, which brought out the cigars and Bloody Marys.
Jonathan Stern and MarkAngelo Kazanjian of Meridian Capital Group along with Miles Bloom and Brian Kinslow of Bisnow took home the top honors with a score of 64. Mike Astor, Adam Roth, Darren Marks and Larry Zombek of law firm Borah, Goldstein, Altschuler, Nahins & Goidel were the runners-up, while a foursome led by 5Points Group’s principals Alan Miller and David Johnson took third place.
We’ll have a full video recap for you next week, but for now, enjoy the photos!
