Starchitect and comic book fan Bjarke Ingels’ West 57th Street pyramid is starting to shape up.
Ingles, the head of BIG, recently Instagrammed two shots of the his rising tetrahedron, which will eventually house 709 rentals when it’s completed in 2015.
The Durst Organization is developing the building.
In July Durst told The Real Deal that the building’s unusual shape came about after the city demanded “an iconic building” at the gateway site.
“Bjarke delivered something completely unique. There is nothing else like it in New York,” Durst said. [Curbed] – Christopher Cameron
