London and New York may have some of the most expensive real estate in the world, but they don’t come close to Hong Kong, which boasts the most expensive home (on a square-foot basis) on the planet.

No. 1 Twelve Peaks in Hong Kong’s exclusive Victoria’s Peak neighborhood is a 4,661-square-foot home that is asking $22,675 per square foot – or $105.7 million. However, a buyer that acts in the next five months will receive a 3 percent discount.

And developer Sun Hung Kai is also offering the early-bird buyer an 11.75 percent rebate on the 15 percent buyer’s stamp duty, according to the Wall Street Journal.

But for the money the amenities seem pretty paltry: just four bedrooms, a private pool, a garden, rooftop terrace and a two-car garage.  [WSJ | Zero Hedge] Christopher Cameron
