Giant cupcakes are making their way back to Manhattan.
The Crumbs Bake Shop location at Columbus Square — at 795 Columbus Avenue — is the first one to re-open under new management.
Crumbs closed all of its stores and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month. CNBC television personality Marcus Lemonis and Dippin’ Dots owner Fischer Enterprises LLC won a bankruptcy auction with a $6.5 million bid, according to the New York Post.
The new owners of the chain plan to open 28 of its 49 original locations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington.
The store at Columbus Avenue and 97th Street is expected to open next month and offer cupcakes, coffee and other drinks. [NYP, 1st] — Claire Moses
