Veteran film and TV character actor Saul Rubinek, who most recently starred on SyFy show “Warehouse 13,” has sold his three-bedroom Nolita condominium for $4.9 million, according to property records filed with the city today.
The 2,595-square-foot apartment at 285 Lafayette Street, near Jersey Street, features two bedrooms, hardwood floors and 12-foot-high ceilings. Architect Costas Kondylis designed the 10-story property.
The buyer was Sasja Properties LLC, with an address of unit 12G at co-op building 90 Riverside Drive.
Rubinek and his wife Elinor Reid, to whom has been married since 1990, paid $2.95 million for the second-floor apartment in 2011, records show. At the time, Robby Browne, Chris Kann and Maria Pashby of the Corcoran Group had the listing. It is unclear if the brokers, who declined comment, were involved in this deal.
The apartment has also been listed for rent since May, with Marcy Lau of Stribling & Associates. The asking rent has dropped to $15,000 per month from $22,000 per month.
In 2011, hotelier Ian Schrager sold his 3,900-square-foot condominium in the building for $11 million, as previously reported.
Rubinek, a 66-year-old Canadian actor, has taken bit parts in dozens of film, TV and Broadway productions over the years. He has appeared in films such as “Wall Street,” “The Family Man” and “Nixon,” and played divorce lawyer Donnie Douglas on long-running NBC sitcom “Frasier.”
