A trailer in Montauk Shores, a mobile home park that’s about as far east on the East End of Long Island as you can get, has hit the market asking $1 million.
The 12-foot-by-48-foot trailer features dark wood paneling, two bedrooms and a 1970s kitchen – not exactly luxury living. The mobile home will almost certainly be hauled off and replaced, so essentially the land is what’s for sale.
The lot has 2,000 square feet, with room for a double-wide trailer and a new deck, making it one of the most prime pieces of land in the park.
“I hate to sell it. I don’t want to sell it, I just don’t, but there it is,” Cherie Doughan said. She and her mother, Jacqueline, live in Placida, Fla., and her sister is in Houston, so they rarely visit Montauk anymore, they told the New York Times. [NYT] – Christopher Cameron
