Porsche to launch pop-up store in Meatpacking District
Store will be open for a month to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the 911 coupe
Among the Christian Louboutin shoes and the Tory Burch bags, shoppers in the Meatpacking District will temporarily be able to buy something altogether different in a new 4,400-square-foot pop-up store: a special edition Porsche 911 coupe.
Porsche is leasing the 446 West 14th Street space to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911 coupe and introduce a new edition of the iconic model, the New York Post reported. Asking rent for the spot was $450 per square foot.
The store, located in a building owned by Joe Sitt’s Thor Equities, will be open from September 16 until October 15.
Interested buyers will have a limited window, however, as only 1,963 (referring to the year the 911 coupe was first made) vehicles will be manufactured. The price tag will be $124,100, plus a $950 destination charge, according to the Post. [NYP, 4th] — Claire Moses
