Rumors of a curse haven’t stopped Bernie Madoff’s Upper East Side penthouse from trading yet again for $14.5 million.
The former home of the notorious Ponzi schemer — penthouse A at 133 East 64th Street — was recently purchased by Lawrence Benenson, executive vice president of the real estate investment and development firm Benenson Capital Partners, according to the New York Post.
After Madoff’s arrest, the U.S. Government seized the property, which was purchased in 2010 by toy mogul Alfred Kahn and his wife Patsy for $8 million.
At the time, Patsy told the Post that “[Alfred] was worried about the karma, but I just loved the terrace.” [NYP] – Christopher Cameron
