Permits filed for new 27-story LIC apartment building

Permits for a 26-story residential tower next door were filed on Tuesday

The construction boom in Long Island City’s Court Square is continues, with a permit application filed for a 282-feet tall tower at 27-19 44th Drive.

This application comes on the heels of a similar permit filed yesterday for the construction of a 26-story right next door.

The proposed tower at 27-19 44th Drive will be 27 stories and a total of 124,529 square feet. The project will include 2,124 square feet of retail space, while the rest of the space will be spread across 165 apartments, according to New York YIMBY.

Twining Properties is developing the site and Handel Architects is designing. Together with the tower next door, 280 new apartments will be added to 44th Drive. Hundreds of other units will be coming online in the area as other projects further develop. [NY YIMBY] — Claire Moses
