They grow up so fast. Just a few weeks after Ryan Serhant, broker star of “Million Dollar Listing New York,” shut down Times Square to propose to his girlfriend, Emilia, the Nest Seekers International broker on Tuesday closed on a penthouse home at 22 Renwick Street in Soho, a source told The Real Deal.
Serhant nabbed PH3 at the Renwick Modern for $3.7 million, the source said. The 1,895-square-foot spread hit the market in March for $4.1 million. It underwent a price cut to $3.8 million, then an increase to $3.975 million before entering contract in August, StreetEasy shows.
Reached by phone, Serhant said, “I’ve always been bullish on the area,” the cusp of Soho, Tribeca and the West Village that he said has a number of construction projects underway. “You bet on the future, not on today.” He declined to comment on the sale price.
Serhant had previously teased some information on his buy on an Instagram upload. In the photo, he’s signing a contract for the home. The caption states: “It’s not [every day] you buy a penthouse.”
The floor-through apartment has three bedrooms (with the option for a fourth), 2.5 bathrooms and two terrace spaces. One of the terraces is off the living area, which has floor-to-ceiling windows, and the other is off the master bedroom. The apartment has four exposures.
Brown Harris Stevens SELECT marketed this apartment. The firm had the listing for the $6.4 million PH1 in this building, which Serhant and his former assistant, Olivia Robertson, took over today. A spokesperson for Brown Harris Stevens declined comment on the transaction and broker change for the other penthouse.
