Midtown development firm Slate Property Group filed plans for a 19-story, 160,000-square-foot apartment building in Downtown Brooklyn.
The property at 1 Flatbush Avenue would hold 157 apartments, each averaging nearly 800 square feet. Twenty percent of the residential component will be reserved for affordable housing. The bottom two floors would hold 20,000 square feet of retail space.
Capstone Equities, the Carlyle Group and Slate entered contract in June to buy two parcels near the intersection of Flatbush and Fulton Street for $35 million, as previously reported.
The three firms jointly own the site, but Slate filed the permits and is developing it. Goldstein Hill & West Architects are handling the building’s design. [NY YIMBY] — Mark Maurer
