Crown Acquisitions signed a 49-year lease to operate the landmarked 453 Broome Street and paved the way for French fashion brand Zadig & Voltaire to move into the vacant ground floor retail space.
Crown restored a 15-year lease on the retail property with the fashion brand, according to the New York Post. The space — now vacant — was previously occupied by Gourmet Garage.
The fashion retailer ended up in litigation with the building’s owner. The Chera family stepped in and settled the litigation, according to the newspaper.
Zadig & Voltaire already has four other locations in New York, at 992 Madison Avenue, 831 Washington Street, 409 Bleecker Street and Soho’s 153 Mercer Street. [NYP, 2nd] — Claire Moses
