Clive Davis, the man who counts Aretha Franklin and Rod Stewart as his protégés, might soon have about as many apartments as award-winning records to his name.
The music giant, who helped Whitney Houston catapult to fame, closed on a $1.9 million two-bedroom apartment 465 Park Avenue, according to records filed with the city today.
Corcoran Group’s Kathy Slattery and John Slattery had the listing.
The 82-year-old, five-time Grammy award winner closed on a similar unit on the floor below — both are 1,250 square feet and have two bathrooms — earlier this week, for $1.5 million, as reported by the New York Daily News. He reportedly already owns four other units in the building at 57th Street and Park Avenue. The Ritz Tower, located on what now has been dubbed “Billionaire’s Row” was originally built as an apartment hotel in 1925.
John Slattery said that Davis aims to combine the units into one apartment. “It’s a great apartment,” he said. Kathy Slattery couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
