Last year, a 4,786-square-foot, six-bedroom suite on the 39th floor of the Pierre Hotel rented for $500,000 a month – a city record. Now the ritzy hotel is at it again, this time asking $120,000 a month for a one-bedroom.
The modest 1,100-square-foot one-bedroom on the 28th floor of the hotel is asking 35 times the median rental price for a one-bedroom in Manhattan, according to the New York Daily News.
In fact, on a price per square foot basis, it’s even more expensive than the record-breaking $500,000 a month unit.
“This is the epitome of luxury,” said listing broker Andres Perea-Garzon of Town Residential. “Not only will you enjoy sweeping park and city views from a corner suite perched above the world, you have access to the finest services available.”
The corner unit, located at 2 East 61st Street, is known as the Park Suite and features a decorative fireplace, large Murano glass chandeliers, curated art selections, and bespoke fabrics. [NYDN] – Christopher Cameron
