Nighttime has fallen over the latest renderings of JDS Development and Property Markets Group’s 111 West 57th Street.
The building will make a significant mark on the city’s skyline during both daytime and nighttime, according to the new renderings by SHoP that were first published by New York YIMBY.
The top 200 feet of the building, which will not house any apartments, are basically a glass and bronze sculpture, according to Gregg Pasquarelli, a principal at SHoP Architects.
He added that the firm is working with L’Observatoire to do the lighting in the building’s terra cotta itself, according to the website.
The building will be slightly taller than initially planned, according to the website, and will eventually rise to stand 1,420 feet tall. [NY YIMBY] — Claire Moses
