Not even a free Phantom Rolls Royce could move the Upper East Side townhouse of billionaire fertilizer tycoon Alexander Rovt. Now, Rovt has slashed his ask from $25 million to $21.5 million.
Last year, brokers tried to generate interest in the 11,400-square-foot home at 232 East 63rd Street, which had already been on the market for a year, by throwing in the super-luxury car.
Now, Rovt is swapping listing broker Daniel Messing of Piquet Realty for Jason Haber of Warburg Realty and cutting the asking price, according to the New York Daily News.
Rovt, a Ukranian native, has owned the home since 2005, when he bought it from restaurateur Rocky Aoki for $4.6 million. He and his wife then demolished and rebuilt the townhouse from scratch at a cost of some $18 million. [NYDN] – Christopher Cameron [NYDN] – Christopher Cameron
