SL Green Realty has signed Bloomberg and WeWork to two long-term Midtown office leases covering more than 390,000 square feet, the real estate investment trust announced today.
Bloomberg agreed to a 15-year lease covering 254,556 square feet across eight floors at 919 Third Avenue, while WeWork’s 15-year lease comprises the entire 136,118-square-foot building at 315 West 36th Street.
SL Green announced the deals late Wednesday evening alongside the company’s first quarter earnings.
A CBRE team led by Peter Turchin, Gregg Rothkin, James Ackerson and Edward Goldman represented SL Green at 919 Third. Hays Realty Services represented shared space provider WeWork at 315 West 36th Street, while SL Green handled that transaction in-house.
The leases “are a testament to the continued strength of midtown Manhattan’s office leasing market,” Steven Durels, SL Green’s head of leasing, said in a statement.
In February, Crain’s reported that Bloomberg was taking 150,000 square feet at 919 Third Avenue. WeWork’s recent lease agreements include 72,000 square feet at the Dumbo Heights complex, as reported by The Real Deal, and 180,000 square feet at 1460 Broadway. — Rey Mashayekhi
