The Orbach Group purchased a 48-unit rental building on the Upper West Side for $27.5 million, city records show.
The New Jersey-based landlord bought the 42,185-square-foot property at 204 West 108th Street, known as the Canterbury, from Lyons Pride Realty, records filed with the city today show.
Orbach could not be immediately reached for comment. Lyons Pride purchased the building in 2008 for $16.7 million, records show.
According to a listing with Massey Knakal’s Hall Oster and Teddy Galligan , 33 of the units are free-market, 11 are rent-stabilized and four are rent-controlled.
“It may be possible to reconfigure a portion of the basement for use as additional amenity space or possibly the lower level of ground floor-basement duplexes,” reads the setup. The brokers couldn’t be immediately reached for comment.
