Patricia Goldstein, a vice president and the head of commercial real estate for Emigrant Bank, died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident. She was 69.
A car struck Goldstein on April 23 while she was riding in a highway bike lane in Highland Beach, Florida. The car left the road, hitting her and her husband Howard Epstein, who was riding on another bicycle and was also seriously injured.
Charges are pending against the driver of the vehicle, Bloomberg reports.
Goldstein started her career at Citigroup, then known as Citicorp, in 1966 – eventually joining one of the bank’s first credit training classes to admit women in 1970. She joined a unit of the Reichmann family’s Olympia & York property empire in 1983, overseeing currency swaps and helping finance the Canary Wharf project in London.
In 1988, she became executive vice president and COO of New York real estate firm M.J. Raynes Inc. before rejoining Citicorp two later and serving as division executive at Citicorp Global Real Estate.
Goldstein cofounded Citadel Realty Group in 1999, arranging financing for property owners and developers. In 2001, she joined Milstein Brothers Realty Investors, where she led a new venture for acquisitions and development.
Goldstein received the Commercial Real Estate Woman of the Year Award, presented by the Commercial Real Estate Women of New York, in 1995.
She is survived by her husband, her daughter Alicia Goldstein, her son Jeffrey Goldstein and two grandsons. [Bloomberg] — Rey Mashayekhi
