Proposed concepts for Riverside Center’s Building 1, revealed
Arquitectonica, GHWA submit three plans for Extell Development project
Renderings of three separate plans for “Building 1” at Extell Development’s Riverside Center residential project have been released.
While construction is well underway at the project’s other buildings – With 21 West End Avenue already topping out and work beginning at 1 West End Avenue – Miami firm Arquitectonica has submitted two different plans for Riverside Center’s Building 1, on the corner of West 61st Street and Riverside Boulevard.
In addition, New York firm Goldstein, Hill & West Architects has created a third concept for the building, according to New York YIMBY. Those plans would include a 38-story tower holding 641 units and totaling over 1 million square feet.
The winning design for Building 1 is not yet known, according to New York YIMBY, with no formal completion date for the Riverside Center’s build-out announced.
Extell Development and the Carlyle Group sold a portion of the five-building, 8-acre project, at 40 Riverside Boulevard, to James Linsley’s GID Development Group for $410.8 million, The Real Deal reported yesterday. [NY YIMBY] – Rey Mashayekhi
